Mathematics

The Mathematics department prides itself on high standards of teaching and in the ability to make Mathematics more enjoyable so that good results are achievable.

At KS3, Years 7 to 9 sit the SATs type examination at the end of the year. This gives a clear idea of the level of progress for each student.

At KS4, we offer GCSE Statistics to the top set students. This will enable the students an opportunity to study a subject which has a good overlap with GCSE Mathematics; thus helping the students in both subjects.

We have had much success with our A Level students over the years - with a high proportion reaching grade A and B.

The Mathematics staff: a brief introduction–

Miss E Bates	Head of Department – been at Hainault since 1989. Started very young!!
Mrs K Bhuwanee	KS3 Co-ordinator who joined the school in 2001. Gifted and Talented co-ordinator for the department.
Mrs F Bonnett	KS4 Co-ordinator. Previously deputy head of department. Started at Hainault donkeys years ago.
Mr V Sooben	Joined in September 2002. Is now part of the 'A' Level teaching team.
Mrs J Stubbs	Started with us in 2001. An Advanced Skills Teacher and previously in the Leading Maths Teacher team in the Borough. Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator for the school.
Mr E Nanor	Joined us in September 2007.
Mr E Mensah	Our newest recruit who joined in September 2008.
